We're making a big announcement today: we've teamed up with some of the most talented and experienced craftsmen in the industry to bring production of our bikes in-house, and to give our products a long term manufacturing home in North America.

Toronto, Canada, March 17, 2014: No. 22 Bicycle Company, a boutique brand of titanium frames and complete bikes, announced today that it is launching a new framebuilding operation in upstate New York.
The operation will be composed of a team of industry veterans, drawing from the production staff of the recently closed Saratoga Frameworks with a combined 53 years of titanium building experience. The team will be led by Scott Hock and includes Frank Cenchitz as head welder, Caleb Sesselman as welder, and Bill McDonald bringing his considerable experience to finishing and paint.
The team will produce all of No. 22 Bicycle Company’s models, including the recently revised Great Divide road frame, as well as frames under contract to other high-end brands.
“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to work with this team as the long-term manufacturing home for our bikes,” said Mike Smith, co-founder of No. 22. “We have been building our brand around the resurgence of North American craftsmanship, and the frames that Scott, Frank and their colleagues are able to build have us thrilled about this relationship. We feel privileged to be working with them to produce bikes that we can all be proud of.”
Founded in 2012 by Bryce Gracey and Mike Smith, No. 22 Bicycle Company produces a line of titanium frames and complete custom bikes. The brand’s bikes are sold both direct and through dealers, working with Stage Race Distribution as its US distributor and VAM Performance as its distributor in the UK.

Trade shows are a logistical challenge at the best of times, and this year the Toronto International Bicycle Show and the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) were separated by four days and nearly 2,000 miles. The whole No. 22 team was scrambling: from late nights anodizing tube samples, last-minute catalogue production, nerve-wracking customs clearances and coordination with our suppliers to make sure not just the bikes, but all of their parts, were there on time. Throw in a blizzard at home and the result has been one of our more ambitious show schedules to date.
So, was it worth it? Absolutely.
We are occasionally asked why we offer a ten year warranty, in contrast to the so-called "lifetime" warranties that are advertised by other titanium builders.
We are tremendously proud of the craftsmanship of our frames, and we have built our brand around offering what we believe are the best made titanium frames currently available. We strive to be open and honest with every element that goes into our bikes, and our warranty is no exception.
It's not every day that we get to announce a new model, which made our launch of the Aurora at the recent Philly Bike Expo even more special. Blending the sublime handling of our Great Divide Disc with the smooth ride quality and increased stiffness under power of the Reactor, the Aurora has been one of the most anticipated bikes we've ever released.
Up front, the Aurora uses a tapered head tube with an integrated headset, shrink-wrapped around the thru-axle tapered steerer carbon road fork. Taking a page from the Reactor's playbook, the Aurora features a CNC-engraved head tube "badge", saving a few grams over our conventional solid titanium badges.
