From the time the first No. 22 rolled out of our Johnstown, NY factory in 2014 we have been building our unique titanium frames to order. When each new customer places an order we cut, butt, miter, weld and finish each frame one at a time. We have been fortunate through our history that orders have often outpaced our production capacity, and the lead time for a new No. 22 frame has grown as a result of this popularity to 8-10 weeks.
While 8-10 weeks is still on the short end for many high end custom framebuilders, we saw an opportunity to do better. With that in mind, we are excited to announce our new stock bike lineup for 2018. Our three most popular models, the Great Divide, Great Divide Disc and Drifter will be available as complete bikes with no-corners-cut builds. These bikes will ship within two weeks of ordering to get you on the road and loving your new bike in the shortest time possible.
How does the process work?
- Order any of our three stock models in any standard frame size, and select your finish and options.
- We put the final touches on the frame in the finish you choose and ship to you or your local dealer within two weeks.
- Start riding.
What are the builds like?
We have built our reputation on constructing the highest possible quality titanium frames, and the components selected for our stock builds reflect that approach. Some key features shared on each stock model:
- No. 22 full carbon fork and aluminum stem, both custom painted by Velocolour
- No. 22 titanium seatpost, custom finished to match each frame
- Complete Ultegra 8000 groupset with mechanical shifting
- Reynolds carbon tubeless wheels and Schwalbe tubeless tires
What are the prices?
In keeping with our goal of making high quality titanium frames competitive with offerings from the larger brands typically seen on shop floors, we have priced our stock bikes aggressively:
- Great Divide in raw finish for USD $5,999
- Great Divide Disc in raw finish for USD $6,799
- Drifter in raw finish for $6,799
What finish choices do I have?
We are introducing new graphics across our entire lineup for 2018, and the stock models give a preview of what’s to come. Each of our stock bikes is available in your choice of raw or two different anodized finishes, with the fork, stem and our new titanium seatpost finished to match. Paint on the forks and stems is done by the award-winning experts at Velocolour, and all anodizing is of course done ourselves in house.
When can I order, and when will I get my bike?
The first round of stock bikes will be leaving our Johnstown, NY factory in the first days of January, 2018. We are accepting orders now for the first of those bikes: please contact us at sales@22bicycles.com to place an early order.
What if I want a non-stock bike?
We’re proud to still offer our full lineup of made-to-order framesets and complete bikes. As we always have, we continue to welcome customization of your frame geometry and details. If you’re ordering a bike that’s not in our stock bike program, nothing changes in your order process, pricing or lead times compared to 2017.
However, our entire lineup is also benefiting from the same attention paid to the stock bikes for 2018. This means new graphics, custom painted cockpits by Velocolour, and custom finished titanium seatposts are going to be available across our lineup for 2018.
