No. 22 at Unbound: Gravel Racing's Biggest Event
There have been few events in cycling that have landed on the map as firmly and as quickly as Unbound. From its first running in 2006 with just 34 participants, Unbound has now become a mainstay event for professional and amateur gravel racers alike from across the world. In the most popular 100-, 200-, and 350-mile distances through Kansas's now-famous Flint Hills gravel, equipment choice becomes crucial.

We were thrilled to exhibit at the Unbound Expo this year, and the number of proud No. 22 owners riding in the event was a great testament to how well titanium pairs with gravel.

On display at our tent we had a handful of gravel builds. Perhaps the best fit for Unbound was our Drifter Adventure, configured with a Rockshox Rudy suspension fork, SRAM Transmission drivetrain, and plenty of tire clearance for 50mm tires.

Unbound was also our first chance to display a build featuring Shimano's latest GRX Di2 groupset. With wide, 2X gearing, impeccable shifting and subtle graphics this drivetrain found a great home on a similarly understated Drifter X build.

More satisfying than displaying bikes in the expo, though is actually riding them, and there were a number of No. 22s on display in the field. Brad Young was all smiles both on the course and after the event, adding a coating of hard-earned Flint Hills dust to his Drifter X.
